KOINONIA

Koinonia is a word from the Greek, the language of the New Testament, meaning partnership. It is also the title of our parish magazine.

It is a word which sums up St. Nicholas well, a church built on partnership and friendship. That begins and ends with our Sunday worship, the high point of the week where the whole church is together. Partnership is reflected in how we learn together, in the Ark junior church, through housegroups, the Alpha course and the Confirmation Group.

Partnership is also reflected in how we care for one another; at the heart of the church is love , because that is at the heart of God himself and his care for each one of us. Partnership is reflected in how we work with other churches. We are a Church which is an Ecumenical Partnership, recognizing our friendship and responsibility with Christian sisters and brothers, regardless of their background. That is also reflected in our working with other Anglican churches in the north east of Worcester.

Koinonia, partnership too is at the heart of the life of God, who comes to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is the perfect partnership of love, who we follow and who we gain constant strength from. It is a partnership reflected in a prayer we pray frequently in St. Nicholas, a prayer for all who visit this website, the Grace.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all, evermore. Amen
