A Prayer Diary for the Warndon Villages

This diary provides a focus for our prayers for each day of the month. It includes groups associated with our church and people living and working on the developmen and in the City. It could be a much longer list and you may want to add to it. Each entry here is only a beginning and may bring other people and situations to mind. It is offered in order to unite our prayers as a Parish around the people and matters that concern our life together.

 1st  Lyppard Grange Primary School. For children and staff
     The Ecumenical Church Council and for God’s wisdom and guidance
     Wall Meadow
 2nd  For all who serve as Councillors. Parish, City and County
     Anne Smith our Methodist Minister and for the churches of the Worcester and
     Droitwich Circuit of the Methodist Church
     Long Meadow
 3rd  For Shire Business Park and other places of employment
     Those who arrange flowers, clean the church and wash the linen.
     Great Meadow
 4th  Bishop Perowne Church of England College. For staff and students
     St. Wulstan’s Warndon. Dominic Melville Vicar, and all who worship there.
     Home Meadow
 5th  St. Richard’s Hospice and all who stay or go there as day visitors.
     For the staff of the Hospice
     For all who contribute to our worship through music.
     Lyppard Woodgreen
 6th  Lyppard Grange Medical Centre
     Jim Brown our URC Minister and for Worcester United Reformed Church
     Lyppard Hanford
 7th  Elgar Technology College. For staff and students
     For those Baptised at St. Nicholas this year and those preparing for Baptism. For those in church who welcome, visit and provide ongoing contact with Baptism families.
     Lyppard Habington
 8th  Local Health Visitors, District Nurses, Community Midwives and      Psychiatric Nurses
     T Time at Lyppard Grange Primary School and those who lead that initiative on the 1st Sunday of the month.
     Lyppard Kettleby
 9th  Those who are unemployed, facing redundancy or who are exploited at work.
     Cranham Evangelical Church and for all who worship there.
     Lyppard Bourne
10th  Nunnery Wood High School. For staff and students
     For David Ryan, our Anglican Minister
     Harley Goodacre
11th  Lyppard Grange Community Centre
     The work of Christian Aid and the world development agencies.
     Harley Whitefort
12th  For the various shops across the Villages
     St. Barnabas, Rainbow Hill and Christchurch Tolladine.
     Peter Haddleton Team Rector and all who worship there.
     Harley Warren
13th  Regency High School. For staff and students
     The Diocese of Worcester; for Bishop John and all who work with him in leading the Diocese
     Harley Bakewell
14th  Maggs Day centre for the homeless and for all who are homeless in the City
     Warndon Prayer Call and Mike and Eve Lindley who lead that group.
     Berkeley Beverborne
15th  For Nurseries, pre schools & Parent and Toddler Groups on the Villages
     Woodgreen Evangelical Church; Pastor Paul Mallard and all who worship there.
     Berkeley Pendesham
16th  The bereaved and grieving.
     Worcester East Deanery; for Rural Dean Canon Ken Boyce.
     Berkeley Alford
17th  The housebound, for Carers & others who care for the infirm at home.
     Retired clergy, and their ministry in St. Nicholas and the wider Church.
     Berkeley Hunderton
18th  Worcester 6th Form College
     Rainbow Hill Baptist Church; for Kerry Birch Minister and all who worship there.
     Berkeley Heywood
19th  For the groups that use the Barn
     Couples who are married at St. Nicholas
20th  Staff at Worcester Crematorium and Cemetary and local Funeral Directors
     Those preparing for ordained ministry
21st  Worcester College of Art and Technology
     Amina Halidou and her family and community in Niger, Africa.
22nd  Worcester Royal Hospital. For patients and staff
     The house groups and prayer group in St. Nicholas.
23rd  Social life in the Parish and local pubs and clubs.
     Those who care for and maintain the Church building and grounds.
24th  The Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service
     Our companion Lutheran Diocese in Magdeburg, Germany
25th  Policing in Warndon Villages, including the Community Support Officers
     North East Worcester Churches Together
26th  The Children’s Society and groups working for justice with young people.
     Our Churchwardens, Eric Jones and Alan Pollard
27th  Families living with pressure and strain.
     Our companion Anglican Diocese of Peru, South America.
28th  The anxious, depressed and others suffering mental health problems.
     For Worcester Cathedral, Dean Peter Atkinson and all who work and worship there.
29th  Adult education in the Villages.
     For those exploring spirituality and those wanting to find faith.
30th  Worcester University. For staff and students
     Worcester Inter-faith Forum and relations with other faith communities
31st  The Citizens Advice Bureau and Worcester Welfare Rights
     For our own faith to be strengthened and renewed by God.
