Terms and Conditions

Hiring
The hirer is responsible for collecting keys from the appointed key holder and returning them promptly after the event.

As a minimum, access to the barn will be at least 10 minutes prior to booked time. The hirer should be clear of the barn within 10 minutes of stated end time. The Church Council reserves the right to apply a surcharge when an extended stay has occurred.

Should any unforeseen circumstances render the Barn unavailable, the Church Council reserves the right to cancel any hiring arrangement. The hirer shall have the option of engaging the Barn on some other day or payment refunded. The Church Council shall not be liable to pay any compensation in respect of the cancellation or alteration of hiring.

The Hirer will be liable for any damage caused to the Barn or its contents by those attending the function.

No sub-letting is permitted in respect of any hiring.

The Church Council reserves the right to ask for a refundable security deposit and/or advance booking deposit

The Building
No furniture, fittings or equipment may be removed from the Barn except by prior arrangement.

All furniture must be returned to its original location after the event.

The Hirer shall leave the rooms and all furniture, fittings and equipment in good clean order.

The kitchen and toilets must be left in a clean and tidy condition.

All rubbish must be taken away by the hirer at the close of the event.

Any breakages must be reported to the key holder when returning keys.

Only portable electrical equipment which has been PAT tested may be used.

Supervision and Fire Safety
The Hirer shall be responsible for excluding uninvited guests.

Where an event involves attendance by children and/or vulnerable adults the hirer is responsible for ensuring that all relevant statutory policy is complied with.

The Hirer shall ensure that the fire doors and corridor to the main entrance are free from obstruction at all times.

No children are to be allowed in the kitchen or left unsupervised in the Barn.

The Hirer shall not allow any explosives, inflammable substances or highly flammable articles to be brought into the Barn.

The Hirer shall ensure that the limit on the number of persons permitted by law to be in the barn shall not be exceeded.

The Hirer shall ensure that no person shall exit through the fire doors, except in an emergency. The land on the far side of the barn is private property.

Alcohol
No alcohol shall be sold or consumed by members of the public during any hiring of the Barn without the proper consent of the Church Council and in accordance with current licensing laws.

No intoxicants shall be sold or offered to members of the public during any hiring of the Barn.

Liability
Whilst the Church Council will take every reasonable precaution to safeguard money and property left by the Hirer in the barn, the Council cannot accept liability in the event of theft or damage to money or property. Groups or individuals hiring the Bam should make their own arrangements for adequate insurance cover.

The Hirer shall indemnify the Church Council against any claims for injury to persons or loss or damage to property arising out of the activities of the Hirer. All Hirers are advised to make their own arrangements in securing public liability insurance cover.

Car Parking
Please obtain the code for the car park padlock when collecting keys.

Do note that priority parking is given to users of the church attending services.

Please park carefully in the car park noting the position of the solar bollards.

If you do knock over a solar bollard please report the incident at the end of your hiring.

On leaving please ensure that the car park is securely locked with the numbers not left on the entry code.
